The long-awaited change will come on 1/12/2020. From that day on, it will be possible to purchase vignettes for Czech motorways electronically. You will no longer need a sticker, which as most of us know, was very difficult to remove from the car window. The vignette prices remain unchanged for the next year.

How do I purchase an e-vignette?

Just go to the website edalnice.cz and select the type of vignette there (annual, monthly or 10-day), fill in vehicle registration number and country in which the vehicle is registered, select the date from which the vignette is to be active and pay. The confirmation of the purchase will be sent to the e-mail address provided during the purchase.

In addition to buying a vignette online, it will also be possible to purchase from partners, incl. Czech Post and petrol stations. From January, it will also be possible to buy an e-vignette at special e-kiosks, which will be placed near the most frequented border crossings (purchase will be possible in different languages).

What is the risk of no vignette in the Czech Republic?

The lack of an active vignette will be controlled in the Czech Republic by the Police and the Customs Service. For lack of a vignette, the driver will be fined CZK 20,000 (approx. PLN 3,400).

The annual e-vignette will be valid for 365 consecutive days from the vignette activation date, i.e. for example purchased on May 30, 2021, it will be valid until May 29, 2022
